Glamping Tents in the Australian Outback

Glamping tents

Craig & Meryl Eddie from BOOBOOK Ecotours based in Roma and Justin & Pauline MacDonnell from “Wallaroo” a 71,000-acre cattle property north of Injune have partnered to bring a real life experience for people ready for their first or next Outback Queensland in the Great Diving Range.

Nestled in the Carnarvon Ranges in Outback Queensland, the Discover Carnarvon Ranges is a one day tour full of adventure, where guests can immerse themselves in the outback way of life, farming culture and wilderness areas while feeling safe in the company of professional, responsible and knowledgeable guides.

BOOBOOK’s can also customised  eco-friendly tours for a multi day adventure, creating the best way to experience the hidden wonders of “Wallaroo”.  Ideally suited to groups of around ten people, our guests all enjoy home cooked meals, will see cycad-filled gorges, visit unique Aboriginal art sites and the Axe Factory as well experience fabulous views and rock formations.  Being a working cattle property you will also hear the stories around how the land was developed and learn from the Justin & Pauline how they make a living from the property through beef production and the export of Zamia trees, whilst maintaining the ecological integrity of the area.  BOOBOOK’s Ecologist Guide will take guests spotlighting to see Australian nocturnal wildlife in their own habitat and show guests some amazing rare plants and secretive wildlife on walks during the day.

To ensure comfort Justin & Pauline have built eco glamping tents with real beds!  We recommend the extended tours, so you can try these beauties out which are available in twin share or doubles.  For those a little more adventurous and who want to experience how real Aussie people in the bush sleep (when not at home in their own bed), rolling out a swag under the stars is also a great option.

These glamping tents are located at the Wallaroo Outback Retreat which also features hot showers, flushing toilets, a kitchen and lovely dining area; designed to fit in with the landscape that is part of “Wallaroo”.

If you have the time we would also encourage you to get the most your of your experience by staying a little longer so our guides can show you more of the surrounding landscapes including Carnarvon National Park, Lake Nuga Nuga and the Arcadia Valley, all located near Wallaroo.

Whether its for a family reunion, a recreational hiking holiday or a hobbyist painting or photography, BOOBOOK  can alter any tour to suit your  individual capabilities and create a once in a lifetime adventure. Contact us today to find out what we can do for you.
