Glamping at Wallaroo in the Australian Outback

Craig and Meryl Eddie from Boobook Explore based in Roma and Justin and Pauline MacDonnell from “Wallaroo” a 71,000-acre cattle property north of Injune have partnered to bring a real life experience for people ready for their first or next adventure in Outback Queensland.

Nestled in the Carnarvon Ranges Lost World Carnarvon is a one day eco-inspired tour full of adventure, where guests are immersed in stunning wilderness areas while feeling safe in the company of professional, responsible and knowledgeable eco guides.

If you are looking for more, Boobook Explore can also customise eco-friendly tours for a multi-day adventure, creating the best way to experience the hidden wonders of “Wallaroo”. Ideally suited to groups of around ten people, our guests enjoy home-cooked meals and comfortable glamping accommodation. During the days, we visit cycad-filled gorges, Aboriginal art sites and the ‘Axe Factory’ as well experience fabulous views and rock formations.

Being a working cattle property you will also hear the stories around how the land was developed and learn from the Justin and Pauline how they make a living from the property through beef production and the export of Zamia trees, whilst maintaining the ecological integrity of the area. Boobook Explore’s eco-guide will take guests spotlighting to see Australian nocturnal wildlife in their own habitat and show guests some amazing rare plants and secretive wildlife on walks during the day.

To ensure comfort Justin and Pauline have installed eco glamping tents with real beds! We recommend the extended tours, so you can try these beauties out which are available in twin share or doubles.
