Where Boobook All Began

After working for the government, large energy companies and community groups Craig and Meryl Eddie in True Queensland style stepped further into the business world by starting their own ecological consulting business. The Business was called BOOBOOK, which is an indigenous word for the common Mopoke or BOOBOOK owl. It was also the name given to Meryl’s cattle stud which was established in the 1980’s and Craig & Meryl’s current grazing property which they still run north of Roma.

During the last nineteen years, BOOBOOK ecological consulting has successfully completed over 900 projects for large private and public companies, government organisations, not-for-profit groups, Traditional Owners, farmers and other businesses.

Our success is contributed to BOOBOOK’s staff who are highly skilled with over forty years’ collective experience in the Surat Basin.

Craig Eddie, a leading Australian Ecologist, is the Director/Principal and the author of the popular book “Field Guide to Trees and Shrubs of Eastern Queensland Oil and Gas Fields” and is a recognised land snail expert.

Using their wealth of ecological and rural experience Craig & Meryl branched out further in 2016 and launched an exciting new arm to their business – BOOBOOK Ecotours.
